Hello,
I was born and raised in Southampton and from an early age I have watched cruise ships sail up and down the solent, in fact one of my earliest memories sitting on western shore watching the iconic liners Queen Elizabeth II & Canberra set sail for the Falklands in 1982.
My interest in watching ships has grown into both a career in the container shipping industry a hobby and a passion. I am fortunate enough to work in the port of Southampton and so I am never without my camera and spend much of my time photographing and writing about cruise ships, much to the annoyance of my wife who regularly has to put up with my rushing off to photograph yet another ship!
I have been a regular contributor of both images and articles to Ships Monthly Magazine for a number of years and have previously contributed to Passenger Ship Technology Magazine.
So I’ve decided to start a blog about my interest, I love traveling and have sailed with AIDA Cruises, Fred Olsen, Norwegian Cruise Line, Marella, P&O Cruises and Royal Caribbean, and know of no better way to travel than by ship.
In this, my little space of the interweb I hope to share news, my photographs, and profiles on the world’s cruise ships.
It will be a work in progress so let us see how it goes and i would love to hear your comments.
Andrew
